Join the RCSS on December 9th from 5-6:30 pm for a conversation with Dr. Sherry Turkle! Turkle is a professor of the Social Studies of Science and Technology at MIT, and her work examines humans’ subjective experiences with technology. She’s published numerous books on relationships and technology, including Reclaiming Conversation: The Power of Talk in a Digital Age. The discussion will focus on Turkle’s latest book The Empathy Diaries, a memoir that intertwines Turkle’s life story with her research. It will also explore Turkle’s use of and relationship to rhetoric in her exploration of society and technology. The talk will serve as an introduction to a new undergraduate seminar on the Rhetoric of Science developed by the RCSS.
