Dr. Craig D. Blinderman is the Director of the Adult Palliative Medicine Service at Columbia University Irving Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, since 2010, and an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Columbia University, Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons. He is also the Program Director of the Bi-Campus (Columbia and Cornell) Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship and Course Director for Life at the End of Life: Palliative Care and Service, which grew out of collaboration with RCSS.
His academic interests include decision-making at the end of life, the role of palliative care in public and global health, medical ethics, narrative medicine, and the integration of contemplative care and meditation in clinical practice. He also has a strong interest in teaching and developing programs to improve medical trainees’ skills in communication and care for the dying.
