Lili Yamasaki

Current Directors

Lili Yamasaki is the current Director of the RCSS, as well as the Director of the MA in Biotechnology Program, for which she teaches two core courses, BIOL GU4300 Drugs & Disease and BIOL GU4305 Seminar in Biotechnology, and a laboratory training course BIOL S4515 in the Summer semester.  She advises all of the MA in Biotechnology students, helps with laboratory placement and provides career counseling in a range of careers associated with biotechnology.  Having previously run a cancer research laboratory in which she constructed mutant mouse models to understand how cancer and development are interwoven processes, she has a deep understanding of what laboratory skills and analysis are necessary for entrance into and productivity in a research laboratory.  She serves on the Departmental DEI Committee and the STEM Departments DEI Committee and is deeply committed to helping URM and FGLI students gain access to laboratory skills and career counseling, which are so fundamental to a student’s success in pursuing a scientific path.
